Palazzo Sant'Agostino

Palermo gets noisy, and people are up early setting up their businesses. Our room had decent soundproofing, but if street noise bothers you, ask for one that doesn’t face the street. That’s the only thing to keep in mind. We loved our stay and I’d definitely book here again next time I’m in town. The location is perfect for exploring the city, and the place has an amazing history, with artworks left by the previous owner. Room 3 was huge, quirky, and well equipped, with two balconies and a massive bathroom. The staff really stood out. Andreas helped us most of the time, and Luigi was brilliant too. Their welcome and the information they shared were second to none in Italy. They genuinely care about their guests.

Fanny and Luigi deserve a special mention for going out of their way to help us during the stay, even with all our ironing requests! The establishment was very friendly, and the location made it easy to get to local attractions. Breakfasts were delicious, and our room was spacious and clean. Highly recommended.

The staff were friendly, efficient, and really accommodating. I’m coeliac, and they arranged fresh bread and rolls from the bakery each morning. Breakfast was very good, and there’s a lift. The rooms were big and airy, and the basic rooms share an outdoor area, while the apartments have private outdoor space. A beautiful B&B, definitely 5*. The rooms were very good.

The B&B is in an excellent spot, on pretty streets near a small supermarket, a lovely little restaurant, and one of the markets. The cathedral is about a 10-minute walk away, and the main restaurant strip takes less than 10 minutes to reach. The apartment itself, room 10, is a very large two-bedroom place with a GREAT view from its private terrace. It has the right things in the right places, but feels tired and needs a revamp. The terrace, table, and chairs need a proper clean, and the broken parasol should be replaced because it’s too hot to sit out there during the day without shade. Housekeeping was poor: we were promised a daily cleaner to make the bed, but they did very little on day one, less on day two, and didn’t come at all on day three. We were also meant to get water each day but received none. The bins were left to ferment and overflow, which was very poor service. The stained sofa is awful. It’s a great size, but with all those stains it’s hard to relax on, and it needs cleaning. Great location, but the B&B needs attention.
