The host was really friendly, and the rooms were clean and nice. I’d definitely recommend it!

The location earns it two stars for me. It’s about an 8-minute walk to the bus stop for the airport and Mondello (Politeama), and around 15 minutes from Teatro Massimo. There are supermarkets nearby, too. The large private bathroom is beautiful, with a splendid marble floor, but the rest of the property didn’t measure up. We arrived to find urine in the bathroom that wasn’t ours, the room felt damp, and there’s no closet, just a wall-mounted coat rack. The kitchen was hard to use: it’s in a windowless loft despite using gas, has no pots or pans because cooking isn’t actually allowed, and there’s no microwave. We booked a B&B hoping to eat at home some evenings, and that was a challenge. A very young woman greeted us and couldn’t tell us much. We didn’t see her again, though she answered the phone promptly when we needed her, so that wasn’t a problem.

Palermo is beautiful, but I’d tell people to avoid this place. Calling it a B&B feels misleading when breakfast isn’t included or even available to buy there. You’re meant to get it at a nearby bar, but it was closed for holidays in August. They also charged €3 per person separately for tablecloths. Maybe they don’t know that B&B means bed and breakfast. It should be called an unstarred guesthouse. The rooms are spacious, but the beds are uncomfortable and there’s no closet. I can’t see four people, especially with small children, fitting comfortably. The bathroom had no soap and smelled foul, shifting between mold and sewage. Water from the shower overflowed and flooded the floor, and I nearly broke my foot slipping. If you get a second-floor room, there’s no elevator, just a narrow staircase with ceilings under 2 meters. It gets stuffy and burnt-smelling. The kitchen had no breakfast items, was dirty, and the worn utensils smelled, so it was difficult to use. The lobby is dingy, or practically nonexistent, just a table with a squared notebook for jotting things down. The staff seemed makeshift and courteous, but unqualified for a B&B. To say I liked something here would be an understatement, and so would calling this a B&B. Looking back, I should have read more reviews before booking. I wouldn’t be surprised if the property adds 10 fake positive reviews to raise its rating instead of using guests’ money to improve the service.

The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and breakfast is plentiful. The owners are warm, welcoming, and attentive. It’s a simple recent renovation, done with good taste and care for the details. The location is handy for exploring on foot, very close to the Politeama Theater.
