Porto Pirgos

A beautiful hotel.

The hotel’s location is beautiful, with an idyllic garden and breathtaking views of the area. We also liked the room size and the comfortable bed. But several things made the stay disappointing, and I can’t recommend it without major service improvements. There seemed to be too few staff, especially at breakfast. The selection was limited, and extras like eggs and orange juice were only available on request. Even asking for more was hard because it took staff a while to find someone. The rooms are dated and have hardly any power outlets. There was no service at the beach or pool, no cushions on the loungers, and no staff around to help. At the beach, staff seemed more focused on their phones than guests. For lunch, we were offered only chips or maybe a salami toast. Loud music from the neighboring club was another big drawback. We’d told the hotel about it beforehand, but when I complained, the receptionist said she was never outside and couldn’t hear it. Much of what previous negative reviews said turned out to be true. The hotel has potential, but it needs significant improvement.

A peaceful spot close to the sea, with lovely views over Tropea. It’s an ideal place for organizing private events.

The property is stunning, with lush, well-kept gardens on a hillside that slopes down to the sea. In such a lovely setting, I expected the service to be just as good, but that was missing. The beach services in particular need plenty of work. For example, the bar doesn’t open until 10:00 a.m.
