That breakfast was the highlight for me: fresh juice, Italian pastries, cappuccinos made to order, and a huge piece of local Parmesan aged until it had those little crystals. The hotel has a lovely old character, with its 1903 roots and touches of art deco and mid-century modern style. There’s even a really cute “toy land” play area if you’re traveling with kids. My one complaint is how small the shower and bathrooms are.

The interior has a stylish look, and the location is convenient for a reasonable price. My room was small but clean, with one of those heavy old-fashioned key tags, and breakfast was basic. At reception, they should hand out the limited traffic application upfront instead of asking which street I used to enter the Goito parking.

Everything was easy to get to from Button Hotel Parma, which made the location a real plus. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a very nice stay and would happily recommend it.

The lounge was the real charmer, quirky and welcoming, and the breakfast buffet had a nice range of choices, though nothing hot. The breakfast staff were lovely and even showed me the technique for cutting that enormous block of parma. Our room was clean, but a little dated, and its decor didn’t have the same appeal as the lounge. We had a small balcony looking over a little square, which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel itself is quaint and well placed for seeing Parma. Reception was efficient, but not especially friendly, which is part of why I took off a star. We still enjoyed the visit.

Breakfast was amazing, so make sure you try the doughnuts. The rooms were clean, and it was relatively quiet for a hotel right in the city center. I’d worried about parking, but it turned out to be very easy. Great location, too.
