Cascina Scova Resort

The setting outside is the only thing I found relaxing, and that wasn't enough to make this a decent stay. The hotel is quite far out of town. The beds are extremely old and uncomfortable, there were bugs everywhere, the shower barely flowed, and breakfast was very limited. The sockets are outdated and wouldn't take modern plugs, and the room cards look about 20 years old. This two-star hotel somehow got four stars centuries ago. It's old, outdated and hasn't been refurbished, with no proper facilities at all. Don't stay here.

The grounds are attractive, and the pool is relaxing, though you need to book access ahead. I've stayed before and like the place. It's a useful hotel and spa for visiting Pavia, which is worth seeing if you don't know it. You enter through a gate with a microphone at the end of a lane. Reception was professional, the room was okay, and breakfast was okay too. The car park is a short walk away.

The location is isolated. Maybe it's nicer in summer, but in November it felt empty and sad. My room was so tiny that one person could barely move around the bed, and the shower was cramped too, even for someone my size. The Wi-Fi needs an upgrade because my laptop kept losing its connection. Breakfast was very basic, and the bread was several days old. Overall, I was quite disappointed and don't think it was worth the price.

We got a warm welcome, which I appreciated, and the restaurant is very good. The rooms were acceptable but quite old and not very clean. The entrance was hard to find at night, so better directions would be a useful improvement. I didn't use the spa or swimming pool, so I can't comment on those.
