Hotel Aurora

The location is a real plus, especially with luggage: it’s just a two-minute walk from the station. The walk into the old town takes 2-3 minutes, and it’s 10 minutes to the Duomo. The hotel is clean and fairly new. Check-in took about 15 minutes because the phone kept ringing and the lady kept answering it and talking. It was slow, but hey, no problem. I had a single room, by far the smallest I’ve ever had in Italy. My colleagues, a couple, had a double room that was 2.5 times bigger than mine. I’d recommend that a single traveler book a double room. Everything worked well, though, as other reviewers say, the shower is small. Breakfast was adequate, but not wonderful or amazing as others say. The coffee from the automatic machine was very good. Breakfast starts at 730; the caffe bar next door opens at 6am and serves illy intenso for 1.20e.

The rooms are compact, though clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly. I’ve stayed here a few times for work and feel safe walking back in the evening. It’s handy for the station and a supermarket, with plenty of shops and restaurants a short walk away. Breakfast costs €8 extra and has a good range of choices. The Wi-Fi can be a bit slow.

It’s very close to the station, which made it a handy place to rest after a long train trip when I was new to the area. The room is quite small, but fine for a quick stop. The front desk service was great, and breakfast is available in the morning for an extra fee. The in-room bar had limited choices when I visited. I’d stay again.

The breakfast was great, though every shower in the hotel is tiny. In room 28, only one outlet worked at night, and the physical key needed to lock the door from inside felt like a safety concern. If you’re assigned that room, ask to move right away.
