Hotel Continental

I spent a week here without running into any problems, so the negative reviews surprised me. The halls and dining room look out over the sea, and the beach was clean and pleasant. Restaurants, sights and the city centre are all an easy walk away. My room faced the street rather than the sea, but the view was still nice. It was a little small, though clean, and the furniture and equipment all worked properly. It also stayed cool enough at night, which can be an issue in Italian hotels. Everyone was polite and respectful. The staff seemed visibly overworked while doing their best to look after people, so perhaps they need a bigger team. I thought it was good value for the price, though maybe I was lucky. My only real annoyance was a group of intolerable children visiting at the same time. They kept yelling and misbehaving at meals, and once tried to get into my room after losing track of theirs. Apart from that, I had a good time.

The location is the only real plus, close to everything you might need or want to see. My experience was awful and disappointing, and I absolutely wouldn't recommend staying here. The photos make it look much better than it is; nothing seemed as advertised. The rooms were horrible, small and dirty, and the AC didn't work in several rooms in our group. Service was catastrophic. They were rude for no reason and wouldn't try to understand us. The food was disgusting, and we found a spider in one of the salads. Avoid this place.

The location was great, but the hotel felt neglected and run down. Staff seemed not to care about guests and came across as cold and rude. The shower was broken, the door jammed, and water sprayed everywhere. Wardrobes were dusty, furniture worn, and the room was laid out so poorly that moving things around finally gave us space to move. The curtains were dirty, as was the floor under the bed. They didn't replace the towels or toiletries during our stay. Glad it was just an emergency stop for two nights.

We stayed here a year ago and found the staff quite friendly. They didn't speak English, but we managed to understand each other somehow 😂. The food was good, and while the rooms are small, they're enough. Thanks for being hospitable 🙏🏻
