Masseria Cerasella

We found Masseria Cerasella almost by chance over the Epiphany long weekend, when I was there with my family. It turned out to be a lucky find. Elena was a wonderful host, discreet but very kind, and suggested places, routes, and things to do. The location is handy, a few kilometers from Roccaraso and very close to charming Pescocostanzo, which is well worth a visit. Lots of wood gives the building the feel of an Alpine cabin, and the warm rooms have little mountain-themed objects and pictures everywhere. There was no TV in our room, but we didn't miss it at all. Breakfast had plenty of variety, including homemade desserts. We'd definitely come back.

It's a lovely, well-kept B&B in a quiet, convenient location, and despite my complaints, I would return. Mrs. Elena is kind, but her attention felt a bit too close for comfort. She seems to follow you with her eyes, much like the camera outside, and it made me feel uneasy. Breakfast deserves just one star: there was no Nutella or hazelnut spread, which is a real drawback for children. Still, we did have a good stay apart from that.

A quiet, refreshing spot that's perfect for a romantic break if you want some peace. The host was very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. The place was impeccably clean and just a stone's throw from Pescocostanzo, so it's very conveniently located. We'll be back for sure.

Roccaraso seemed expensive and rather disorganized to me, with queues for everything and services that felt inefficient during our short weekend. As for this B&B, it looks nice and well kept, and they tell you beforehand that the rooms have no TVs, so you can decide for yourself. First impressions were warm and welcoming, maybe even better than expected, and I chose it partly because of the very positive reviews. But when we went upstairs, room no. 4 had a terrible smell from the bathroom pipes that nearly made us vomit. The building is old and a little run-down in places, though still nice overall. Our friends' room didn't smell, so another room might avoid that problem. The breakfast was very limited for a B&B costing €100 a night, even if that's affordable by Roccaraso standards. The room cleanliness wasn't great either. It could have been better.
