We came for a special birthday, but the service was deeply disappointing. Staff seemed rushed and inattentive from the start, and guests barely got to eat. Whenever someone stood up to make a toast or talk with friends, which is normal at a birthday, their plate was cleared almost straight away. Plates were taken too quickly and often without asking, even when food was untouched. Most people didn’t finish a single course, and out of five or six courses, many only got to try one or two. Everyone left hungry and shocked. Several people half-joked, but meant it, that they’d have to go home and cook dinner. It felt rude and turned a celebration into a frustrating experience, far from what we’d hoped for.

The staff were the real highlight: friendly, accommodating, and clearly happy in their work. The hotel is well equipped, with a spa and a first class restaurant, and sits in a forest at 1100m above sea level. Highly recommended for hiking and cycling, though there are plenty of hills to climb! 😂

The pool and sauna staying open until 20:00 was a real plus, especially with snow falling outside. There’s a natural park right across from the hotel, and it’s not far from Potenza. The staff were nice, though some didn’t speak English. Dinner is available, either à la carte or at a fixed price. At breakfast, we also got a plate of cheese alongside the usual Italian buffet.

The staff were kind and looked after us, though quite a few of them don’t speak English. The place feels old and could use some remodeling. The beds are old too, and breakfast was poor. It could work well for a spiritual retreat.
