BB Il Porticato

The Italian breakfast was generous and really good. We were only looking for somewhere to sleep while passing through, and Il Porticato worked out very well. The owners let us check in earlier than planned after the ferry company moved our crossing forward, and they were flexible and helpful. The house is stylish and finished to a high standard, and our room was lovely too. Since we’ve been robbed several times in Italy, it was reassuring that the house felt secure and the ground floor was busy. We don’t understand the negative reviews. We’d gladly stay at Il Porticato again.

Clean, cared for, and in a handy location. The owners are welcoming and attentive, and the property has lots of thoughtful details. Definitely recommend it.

During Lucca Comics and Games, my partner called to arrange our arrival for the following day. The lady was very rude, saying she hadn’t heard from us and that she’d leave us outside if we showed up. Maybe there was a misunderstanding, or perhaps someone hadn’t handled things properly, but that still wasn’t a reasonable way to answer. We found another place to stay. Given how she spoke to the public, I’d avoid this one. The lady should remember to tell booking providers when she stops accepting their offers.

Waiting for even a basic receipt, and the owner was rude and unhelpful. It felt more like being at my mother-in-law’s than on holiday. I wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone!!!
