It was clean, the people were friendly, and the airport is nearby. I recommend it.

We ended up having to find somewhere else in just a few hours, so we never stayed in Pisa. We’d booked this B&B 3-4 days ahead and had specifically asked for a room with a private bathroom. Everything seemed clear at the time. Our arrival was meant to be at 6:00 PM, but we were 2-3 hours early, so I called to check whether that was a problem. The person who answered was the same one we’d spoken with about the booking. They said they’d expected my call the night before. There’d been no agreement that I should call then, and I said so. They told me the private-bathroom room had been given to another couple, or that another couple had booked and there was no longer a private bathroom, so we’d have to share. Having a private bathroom was important to us and we’d made that clear when booking. With COVID-19, I also wondered whether this was even legal. I asked why they hadn’t called me, and was told they’d been waiting for me to get in touch. The woman didn’t seem to understand that I had no reason to call the night before. I’d read good reviews and wish I’d seen this B&B in a different light. I can’t understand how people I found so unprofessional and dishonest can run a B&B.

The train station is a convenient 10-minute walk away. They provided cake, water, candy, and coffee, and the staff were efficient. The kitchen and bathroom are shared with other guests, who may be noisy during the night.

The apartment is clean throughout, and our room for three was large. We had Wi-Fi, a city map, shutters, and blackout curtains. The owner told us when the other occupants would arrive and apologized for the disruption, but they came after midnight, talked late, and came into our room. Keep the door shut if you’re sleeping. You can hear neighbors talking late and getting up at 6 am, as well as traffic. Planes stop between 10 pm and 6 am, then activity starts again, so it can be noisy if you’re used to quiet. Even with all that, we slept very well. It’s well placed for the train station and airport, and at most a 30-minute walk from the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Number 70 is on the right after number 66 in the reinforcement, and there’s a bakery/café next door. On arrival, telephone reception in English and Italian was excellent, though we managed. Such kindness! Ask about the free parking. The apartment has 3 bedrooms and 1 shared bathroom and toilet.
