La Casa Di Luigi

I'm writing for a group of friends. We contacted the host on July 6 to ask about “La casa di Luigi” for the Ferragosto weekend, and, since it was available, booked directly with the owner. We never got to stay there. A plumbing problem in one of the three bathrooms made the whole apartment inaccessible. We only heard this late in the afternoon on the day before we were due to leave, after we got in touch to ask about check-in time. Given the group size and the peak holiday period, that timing was unacceptable. Why hadn't earlier guests told the owner about such a serious issue that made the entire apartment unusable? We do want to say that Giuliana was helpful. When we asked, she looked for nearby accommodation because of the huge inconvenience, but the options weren't the kind we'd chosen and the prices didn't fit our budget. For future guests, I'd advise booking through an official platform such as Booking.com. Don't rely only on the owner's kindness. Make sure you have a document confirming your request and a positive booking response. I still have concerns about how a plumbing issue in just one bathroom could make the whole apartment inaccessible. This may not matter to people who do stay there, but I hope it alerts other vacationers to possible suspicious or improper behavior.
