Napeto Village

The food was exceptional, and my daughter was so happy she wanted to add another week to our vacation. I was truly happy too. Everyone was wonderful and helpful, from the wait staff and bar staff to the cleaning ladies and entertainment team. Mr. Tonino was incredibly helpful. It felt like being at home, and the friendliness and willingness of everyone to go out of their way for us were unmatched. Long live Calabria and Napeto.

A quiet little oasis, surrounded by olive groves, greenery, and tall palms. It has the feel of a village from the 1980s, with villas and outdoor porches, plus a small church that wasn’t in use. There’s a lovely view from the beach, and a walk along it leads to a beautiful pine forest. The village is conveniently just off the highway and near the famous Calabrian tourist destination, but the road to the village is pitiful. The menu gives two options for each meal, and breakfast is generous, with what’s definitely homemade chocolate spread. Food is good, bar service is decent, and the pool is shallow and ideal for children. It’s a peaceful spot for getting away from the hectic pace of city life.

The staff were super friendly and ready to help whenever we needed them, and the food was high quality with generous portions. We had a wonderful, relaxing week with my boyfriend and my dog. The beach was beautiful, and the entertainment was pleasant without getting in the way. The sea, which is usually beautiful, wasn’t very clean for a few days during our stay. Apart from that, everything was perfect.

The restaurant was always clean and tidy, with courteous waiters and simply prepared but delicious dishes. Portions were regular, though there could be more variety in the side dishes. Our room was clean and serviced daily, and the staff were friendly. The place felt welcoming, but the furnishings and linens were dated, and there should be a mirror outside the bathroom, since that was the only one and there were just a few empty walls in the room. The entertainment team did a decent job involving families and children without being too intrusive. I didn’t always like the head entertainer Enzo’s approach, though. He was mostly around in the evenings, and at times I found his exuberance excessive and rude. Thanks to the staff who put so much effort into the activities, and to the children who joined in willingly. There’s a lot of green space around the village, but it needs more maintenance and upkeep. The beach could be improved too. Access to the village could be better, perhaps with signs and a renovated driveway. Good value for money.
