The wine bar service was exceptional, but the restaurant service was sadly the worst I’ve had after seven years of living in Italy. We reserved about three months in advance, yet when we called to book dinner, we were told there was no space. That made no sense to me, since hotel guests should have a place. On our first night, we had takeaway Bistecca Fiorentina with plastic cutlery, a bad combination. We then got a reservation for two days later and arrived 15 minutes early, only to be told a group was being served and we should come back in 15 minutes. The tables were empty, and they could have offered us a drink while we waited, but instead they sent us away. I think hotel guests should have priority. Having to reserve for both breakfast and dinner is a no go. Other places understand that people need somewhere to eat in the morning and evening.
