The worst thing about this place was seeing how the animals were kept. There were more than 10 cats in mixed states of health, some with broken tails, and none had been neutered. Over 10 goats were shut into a 3-by-3-metre pen. The two donkeys and horse shared an 8-by-3-metre enclosure, and the horse could barely move because its hooves hadn't been maintained. Two full-grown pigs were in a tiny 3-by-3-metre pen, though they were gone after two days. Four cows were kept in a 10-by-6-metre enclosure, all with matted fur; one had open wounds, apparently from being unable to do anything but lie down. The rooms and services were fine, though very dated, and the location isn't practical without a car. The animals' treatment was appalling for a place that advertises them, and it nearly ruined our trip. I hope someone else will contact the relevant authorities about their care.

The grounds looked pleasant enough, but the animals were in an appalling state. The horse and donkeys' hooves were so overgrown they could no longer stand. More than 50 feral cats roamed around, some missing limbs or with broken tails, and they all had conjunctivitis. Many had gone blind. Pigs were kept in a tiny concrete cell, and four cows were in a small yard with open sores on their sides, apparently from lying in their own faeces. The goats, chickens, ducks, and rabbits were also crowded into tiny cages. None of the animals had clean drinking water. We visited near the end of winter, so most amenities were closed. If the owner sees this, please consider rehoming the animals and putting more attention and money into the resort instead. The animals deserve better. Don't visit if you love animals. I cried myself to sleep during our two-night stay after seeing those conditions.

The food was made from their own garden and was much better than what you'd get at a restaurant for a similar price. The people were lovely and helpful, remembered our preferences, and made the vacation feel more relaxing. Southern hospitality at its best. It's a great setup for kids, with friendly farm animals and lots of open space. They'd said online that the baby bed would cost extra, but it wasn't charged on our bill, which was a nice surprise. We'd definitely come back.

The place is a nice break from the busy tourist spots nearby, with fruit trees, tidy grounds, and lovely corners to sit in. We came off season, but the staff were still welcoming. The rooms were clean and well equipped, and the Italian-style breakfast pastries were delicious. Their own olive oil was excellent. Getting to the train station on foot is a bit awkward, so this isn't ideal without a car. A taxi from Pompeii center is quite cheap, though.
