L Anfiteatro Di Pompei B B

Vincenzo and his family were really accommodating and helpful when my daughter and I stayed one night before visiting the Pompeii ruins. We’d lost our way from the train station, and Vincenzo even came to pick us up. The last available room had a balcony and slept four. It was spacious, very clean, and we had a peaceful night. He also kindly let us leave our luggage in the apartment, so we didn’t have to carry it around on our tour or pay to store it at the entrance. The B&B is a 10-15 minute walk from the ruins, shops, and restaurants. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The apartment was neat, clean, and comfortable, and I liked the decorations throughout. It’s within walking distance of the Pompei Archaeological Park at the Piazza Anfiteatro entrance and the Basilica. The host was very helpful and did her best to explain things in limited English. I’d stay here again if I come back. One thing to bear in mind if driving: the car park entrance is very narrow, especially for a big vehicle.

We were the only guests when we stayed in December, and even then the owner wanted an extra payment to keep our bags until 3pm on checkout day. That didn't feel very welcoming. We also never saw the owner during our two nights, and there was no breakfast, despite it being included in the price for a bed and breakfast. The bathroom had mould, the shower head leaked, the drain didn't work properly, and water flooded the shower area. I don't understand the positive reviews. For this price, there are better options nearby. I'd avoid this place.

Lello and Sofia clearly put a lot of work into making the stay comfortable, clean, and friendly. We visited with family in July 2019 and had a very nice time. The ruins are about a five-minute walk away, and the B&B was easy to find when we first arrived. We'd recommend it to friends, family, and other people visiting Pompei. The Amalfi Coast is also nearby, and Positano made for a very nice beach day.
