Lemon in the air Apartment

Pontone is a cute town with friendly people, and we enjoyed the cafe and restaurant just steps from Bérengère’s place. I only wish we’d stayed longer and had a chance to explore the towns around Pontone. The apartment was very clean and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable visit. Walking down to Amalfi meant taking stairs, but it was manageable for anyone without mobility issues. We didn’t try walking back up and took the bus to Pontone instead. Bérengère was helpful before and during our stay. She offered to arrange a pickup from the train station and to Naples airport, and welcomed us with homemade limone sorbetto. She also let us try hazelnut spread and liqueur. My friend and I really enjoyed our stay in Lemon in the Air.

Pontone was quiet, which we loved after a day away from the tourist crowds. There are two great restaurants in town, and there’s a nice short hike to some waterfalls. Ravello is close by, and you can get to Amalfi on foot via stairs or by bus. The apartment had everything we needed to cook, and it was clean and tastefully decorated. Bérengère was a wonderful hostess, friendly and helpful, with good tips for exploring the area. After our long drive, her lemon sorbet was such a delicious welcome. We stayed for a few days in April and can’t wait to come back!

This place is beautiful, and I almost wanted to keep it our little secret. It’s lovely to stay just outside Amalfi and Pontone, both busy tourist spots. From here, we hiked for 40 minutes up to the neighboring mountain town of Ravello, or down to Amalfi by the sea. Positano, the town you see in so many photos and videos, is about a 20-minute bus ride away. Our host was wonderful and generous with her time, explaining things and sharing homemade lemon sorbet. The home is cute, and the fresh mountain air made for a great night’s sleep. I woke up to the scent of fresh flowers each morning. I highly recommend it.

We felt right at home during our three weeks here, from May into June. Pontone was a great base for exploring, close to everything but away from the crowds. We spent our time hiking, cooking, trying fantastic restaurants, and visiting nearby towns. Berengere was a wonderful host. She gave us great recommendations, showed us around her incredible garden, and even taught us how to make limoncello.
