The receptionist was patient and took the time to understand my issue, which I really appreciated. I had some trouble explaining myself in English, since it's not my first language, but speaking a little Italian helped. The staff were very helpful, and the location and service impressed me for the price. There's a convenience store around the corner and a parking lot right out front. The breakfast choices were a bit limited, though not the worst in Italy, and the coffee was unusual but lovely. The hotel was great value for two people, but the price barely changes for a single room, so it works out less well for solo travelers. One frustrating thing: while I was writing this review, room service tried to kick us out before the official check-out time. Still, it was a good stay for the price.

The staff were absolutely amazing, friendly and qualified. The lady at reception deserves a medal: she was there day and night and also made breakfast, somehow managing to stay friendly through it all. The hotel is in a good spot on one of the main squares, with a market on Wednesdays and Sundays, yet it's still quiet. I have a soft spot for small, cozy hotels like this in Italy. The rooms are a little old and could use some refurbishment. In mine, the toilet seat was broken and wouldn't stay up, so I had to hold it with my hands.

Pontremoli is gorgeous, and the hotel is right in town, making it a lovely place to stay and visit. The rooms are traditional, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

A pleasant hotel, with a nice room. It's in a quiet corner of town. The breakfast buffet was very Italian, with lots of cakes.
