We booked through Booking.com and paid online, expecting to have a restaurant available. On arrival, the entire hotel smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. We were told the restaurant was open for lunch but not dinner. The other nearby restaurant was closed, so we returned to the hotel restaurant, only to be told at 13:30 that they had no food left. We explained to the owner that with nowhere nearby to eat, we needed to leave. She said she understood, but that we had to arrange it through Booking.com. Booking.com called the hotel, and the hotel said the restaurant was open and refused a refund. When we called the hotel ourselves, they said the restaurant was a separate business and the hotel had no responsibility, then told us it was our problem and they wouldn’t refund us. We felt we were lied to and treated terribly. We found another hotel in the meantime. Avoid this place.

The owners were kind and easy to reach, and the garden was huge, peaceful, and beautifully cared for. We loved having a pool overlooking the lake for a quick swim. Our apartment at Antico Crotto Residence had everything we needed, with plenty of space and a comfortable setup. We stayed in July and thoroughly enjoyed it. We’ll be back.

The croissants and cappuccino at breakfast were delicious, and the hotel has a nice lake view. The room had what I needed apart from soap and shower gel, which I don’t understand why they don’t supply. Finding a restaurant nearby was tricky because there aren’t many and they fill up. Better to call ahead and book. We visited in April. It’s a decent hotel.
