Getting to the hotel from the ferry can be tricky. Don’t rely on Google Maps or your device, since it may send you up a huge number of stairs. Ask a local for a quicker route. If you have a large suitcase, the people offering luggage transport are worth using; the walk is easy enough if you’re traveling light. Once there, the room had breathtaking views, and the accommodation was spotless, stylish, and very comfortable. Breakfast was delivered to our room on time each morning. The staff were friendly and attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. It’s a stunning location, the kind of place you don’t want to leave.

The check-in felt disorganized and unsafe. The person in charge changed at the last minute when I arrived, which was uncomfortable as a solo traveler. The apartment was dark, even on a sunny morning at 8am. There’s only a bedroom window, and the photos made the main living areas look much brighter than they were. The terrace in the listing is actually the church patio, not part of the rental, and I’d booked partly because I thought I’d have access to it. The décor also didn’t match the photos, and the furniture was old. The bathroom smelled bad, probably because of a pipe issue, had no ventilation, and the broken tub wouldn’t hold water. Hot water ran out quickly and was hard to regulate, so even by myself I could barely take a proper shower. The blankets smelled unwashed, and the place felt neglected. They’d left only a tiny amount of olive oil and fewer coffee capsules than the length of my stay, a small thing that still felt careless. I was very excited to visit Positano, but this stay was a huge disappointment. Between the misleading terrace photos, lack of natural light, bathroom and hot-water problems, and the way check-in was handled, I can’t recommend this place. It made my experience in Positano very bad.

The location was a great base for exploring Positano, away from the crowds but still convenient. The staff were lovely, polite, helpful, and attentive, and breakfast was delicious and brought to our room each morning. We had a fantastic three-day stay at La Rosa Dei Venti. Our room was simple but comfortable, with everything we needed, and the terrace overlooking the gulf and sea was a lovely place to unwind.

Vicenzo!!! The service here was the best we’ve ever had in Italy. We loved it and can’t recommend this place enough, 100/10.

The staff were so warm and helpful, and the service was excellent. We had a balcony with a gorgeous sea view, and they brought breakfast to our room every day. The hotel is very close to the main road. This was the best place to stay in Positano.
