B&B La Villa

My husband was hospitalized at Neuromed, so we stayed for six days. The property is just a few steps from the hospital. Our large room had a wonderful terrace overlooking the beautiful natural surroundings, and it was cleaned perfectly every day. The owner was very kind. Mario and his family treated me wonderfully, thank you. Mario is sociable, friendly, polite, and respectful, and courtesy and helpfulness seem to come naturally to them. I spent two nights here and got a room that was spotless, tidy, fresh-smelling, and had all the comforts. The property is in a very peaceful spot, and I really liked its country style. We’re visiting as a family from Sicily, and the place is enchanting. The balcony has a splendid forest view and comes with a table and chairs. Inside, the room is clean and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom and a great shower. The owner is super kind, and the value for money is excellent. Highly recommended.

The place is directly across the road from Neuromed, one of Italy’s most important hospitals. I felt for the families of patients who are already going through so much and then have to stay somewhere that offers no real comfort, perhaps because it assumes they have no other choice. I was only passing through, fortunately, and I wouldn’t repeat this experience. The photos show a welcoming property with pleasant rooms, and a lush garden. What I found was completely different: an outdated, neglected building, and a room that was squalid. The furniture was cheap and recycled, cleaning was barely done, and there was mold, cobwebs, and insects everywhere. The countryside isn’t an excuse. I had to kill two huge spiders that night and couldn’t sleep at all. There was a urine and sewer smell, as other colleagues who stayed there also noticed. The sinks and bidets were clogged, as I saw myself. The bathrooms had no soap, and there was no breakfast. Why call it a B&B, or even a hotel? Outside, the garden from the photos had been left to decay. It was dirty, with moldy recycled furniture and overgrowth where all sorts of things could nest. If I could give zero stars, I would.
