Trattoria Albergo Leon D'Oro

We didn't stay at the hotel, just ate at the trattoria. The house wine was good, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. Parking is available. The staff were very kind and served us after 1:30 PM, even though other places had already closed.

The vitello tonnato was the one dish we managed to finish, so I can give that a positive mention. The rest of our family lunch today was disappointing, and I can't leave a positive review. The gnocchi with Castelmagno cheese was far too runny, while the pork loin was inedible: the meat was very tough and the zucchini watery. The breadsticks tasted stale, and the desserts said to be homemade were clearly packaged. There was no value for money. I don't think I’d recommend it, at least not during the week.

Lunch here feels like eating at Grandma’s, with plentiful, really good food. It’s an old-school trattoria, very much a place from the '80s, but it does its job. The owners are kind, though you can tell they’ve been working hard for a long time.

I’ll be back in 2024. They cook well and are really nice people. Everything is always very clean, the service is quick, and the desserts are not bad either. A few weeks ago we had the gnocchi with Castelmagno cheese, agnolotti del plin, tajarin, and veal with tuna sauce. Last Sunday the polenta with stew and sausage was fabulous. The portions are adequate, the food is authentic, and the value is good. It was already an excellent restaurant in previous years, but it’s even better now. I’m sure I’ll make a good impression when I come back with friends. Thank you.
