Hotel Tramonto d'Oro

The rooftop bar and pool are lovely places to unwind before dinner, with beautiful views of the sea and positano. It's a short walk to several restaurants and bars, and about two minutes from the bus station for rides to positano or Amalfi. Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we had in Italy, and the local honey is worth trying. We also ate at the hotel restaurant twice because we liked it so much. The lemon pasta and sea bass were both great, and the lemon sponge cake was the best we had on the Amalfi coast. The hotel arranged a car to pick us up at Salerno train station and take us to Naples airport. It's right off the main road, so there was no worry about hauling luggage up or down stairs. Luigi and everyone at the front desk helped with everything from bus tickets to bubble wrap for fragile souvenirs, and their food recommendations were great. They went above and beyond and made our stay amazing. I'd stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting Praiano. The price is very reasonable compared with other Amalfi Coast hotels.

I stayed three nights this April, and the SITA bus stop for Amalfi and Positano was right out front. The parking lot was well equipped. Inside, the modern, luxurious interior was meticulously maintained, and the staff were kind and friendly. The view was fantastic, and it made my Amalfi Coast visit even more special. I already want to come back.

It's been seven years since our last visit, and this stay went beyond the wonderful memories we had from 2018. The views are incredible, I'm sure as they are at every hotel, but the family hosting us made all the difference. Everyone worked to make our stay perfect. We can't thank them enough.

The balcony view of the Mediterranean was incredible, with the rock arches of Capri visible in the distance by day and Positano's lights glittering over the water at night. We could see the cupola of the Church of San Gennaro too, and hear the church bells marking the time. Watching the sun sink into the sea from there felt like pure magic. Our room at Tramonto d’Oro had a king-size bed with a heart made of rose petals. A little corny, yes, but we loved it. The spacious marble bathroom was elegant and sparkling clean. The owners and staff greeted us with a lovely bouquet of fresh flowers, and our travel advisor, Tracey Coleman from Fora Travel, had sent a chilled bottle of Prosecco. Such a thoughtful way to start the stay. One night we ordered room service from the five-star restaurant, and they set the balcony table with a white linen cloth. It felt like dining in the restaurant with the sea as our backdrop. The pizza, gnocchi Sorrentina, lemon ravioli and cacio e pepe were all delicious and perfectly made. Breakfast was another highlight, with fresh pastries, local fruit, and eggs and cappuccinos made to order. Everything felt carefully done. The hotel arranged a private transfer from Naples. Our driver, Giuseppe Cantellano, was friendly, funny and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the scenic southern coastal route through Ravello, Amalfi and Praiano, a wonderful introduction to the area's beauty. Between the panoramic pool, the warmth of the Esposito family, and the simple luxury of the place, Tramonto d’Oro lives up to its name, the golden sunset. We left feeling we'd experienced the best of the Amalfi Coast, with full hearts. Grazie mille to everyone at Tramonto d’Oro. We can't wait to return!
