Dinner had some fun surprises, including mustard ice cream, and left us both surprised and satisfied. The meal was a real treat for the senses, paired with wines from their impressive cellar. Owner Gianni and his wife Nadia brought plenty of good humor and friendliness to the evening. The rooms are only a few meters from the farmhouse and winery, and arriving at "Sgubin" feels like coming back to friends. Familiar hospitality and good food are part of the welcome. The pheasant ravioli deserves a special mention. The restaurant serves delicious food rooted in local traditions, with a good wine list and a lovely feel to the place. Hospitality was exquisite, and the small rooms are cozy with tasty breakfasts. Set in the Collio hills, this farmhouse is near Cividale del Friuli and cultural destinations like Palmanova, Udine, and Gorizia. Well worth a stop.

We’re just a few kilometers from Cividale del Friuli, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and close to the Slovenian border in Mernicco. This splendid agriturismo sits in the Schioppettino area, part of Collio Orientale. I recommend trying the wines from the estate, Al Ciant de Rusignul... The rooms were clean, and we were delighted with our stay on the Alpe Adria Trail. The food was excellent, and the service felt especially friendly and welcoming, even toward our dog. The wines were superb and worth trying. Thanks for having us! 🙏🏼
