The staff were courteous, and I do want to congratulate you for running a business in this area, but the services made it hard to give a good review. The parking lot next door was always full, so we had to go down in the evening to move the car. The radiators were barely on when we arrived, and since we were in the mountains we had to ask for an electric heater. The shower water was lukewarm, and sometimes turned completely cold. There were cobwebs on the walls, which I could overlook, but there were also wood-dwelling insects on the bed, like large red and black ants. Breakfast had only sweet options, with no savory choices or mountain products like butter, cured meats or cheese.

I only came here to eat, not to stay overnight, and found the venison dishes really memorable. Everything was carefully prepared, full of flavor, with no unpleasant smell, and felt like authentic forest food. Several reviews call the grilled and stewed dishes bestsellers, and they seem easy to enjoy even if it’s your first time trying them. The place is rustic and cozy, the service was friendly and quick, and the prices felt fair for the ingredients and quality. A fun, satisfying casual meal, though it’s not really a luxury dining kind of place. 😄🍽️

We happened upon the restaurant for lunch while showing some Japanese friends around Cansiglio. The food was all really good, and my friends especially loved the venison pasta. The waitress was so lovely and kind. Thanks to her!

The owner makes you feel welcome right away, and a sign beside the bar says it well: “You won’t meet strangers here, only friends.” Pets are always welcome too, so when friends with pets ask me where to stay nearby, I send them here. The hotel has a cozy, slightly retro feel as soon as you walk in, with a splendid carpet on the stairs. Well done!
