Pini e Mare

For me, it’s a simple, decent place to camp with a tent. The beach isn’t nice at all. Parking for the car is free, and the campsite stays open during siesta. The receptionist was very friendly and had useful tips. At the bar, the espresso is good and costs 80 cents. I haven’t seen any families here so far. Wivi is available at the café.

We were there for two nights at the end of June 2015, after camping in places like Cala Gonone and Vignola Mare. This one felt much more basic, really just somewhere to sleep in a tent. The price was fair and the staff were friendly, though the whole place looked dated and rather neglected. There were lots of things that seemed to be left unattended, perhaps because it’s run by the local community. The little market only had basic food while business was quiet, so we had to use other supermarkets nearby to find a better selection. Capitana beach is only 300 m away, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The sandy part is tiny and dirty, the water had a lot of organic tree material in it, and the beach is hemmed in by a wall. We’d have driven 15 - 20 minutes to find one of the area’s nicer beaches instead. If you’re visiting Cagliari, want to keep your overnight costs down, and don’t expect much, it could work. Otherwise, I’d look for an Airbnb or a hotel.

We picked Camping Pini e Mare as a base for exploring the south of Sardenga, after discovering the beautiful north. We wanted to stay near Cagliari and, if possible, close to a beach. It’s just before the panoramic road that turns into the mountains, with trees all around. The pitches are clean and large enough for a caravan or camper, and a tunnel connects the campsite to the beach. The staff gave us lots of helpful advice on sightseeing and where to find romantic, secluded beaches. They even helped with collecting family from the airport. We ended up staying longer than planned, and the location let us see a big part of south Sardenga. We hope to return soon and enjoy the hospitality of the lovely team at Camping Pine e Mare again.

It’s in a good spot near the sea, and the campsite has clean facilities and friendly staff. The beach itself isn’t great, though, it’s narrow and stony.
