Wildlife was all around us in the hills, and we were lucky enough to see deer and wild boars on several occasions. The house is only a few minutes' drive from Volpaia, and its central spot in Chianti made day trips to little towns, castles, and wineries into lifelong memories. It's a beautiful stone house that can fit up to three families. The rooms and bathrooms are large and comfortable. There's plenty of space to relax with a book or movie, along with several cozy areas for gathering and a dining table on a spacious covered terrace. The pool is great at any hour, day or night. A few underwater lights might be a nice addition.

The two months passed quickly, but they left us with lasting memories and a sense that this had been an important experience, not just a vacation. We formed a bond with Casavecchia. It was a lovely mix of new discoveries, good company, kind people welcoming us, and the wonder of the place itself. We took our time exploring, and it takes time to appreciate the nature, history, and culture here.

The pool was a lovely place to unwind, with views across the hills around Radda and Chianti. The house itself is a wonderful traditional Tuscan home, with thick stone walls and charming antique furnishings.
