Verdidea - Podere del Mezzadro

A rental car is probably easiest, though a 'taxi' works too. We had a lovely couple of days here. Make a few trips to the cheese factory a kilometer away and the cozy little shop beside it, and take some excursions to Fattoria Brunello Dei Barbi.

We felt very welcome on our Tuscany tour, with a family atmosphere and people ready to help with whatever we needed. There were food and refreshment areas for welcoming guests, too. Spectacular.

Alfredo, the owner, was so kind and welcoming. We rented the two connecting first-floor apartments for New Year's Eve with another family, four adults and four children. The house sits in a wonderful spot, sunny all day and ringed by hills. Both apartments had heating, a fireplace, rustic country furnishings, and dishes. The bathrooms had showers and hairdryers. Outside, there’s a large, well-kept garden with a barbecue and a pool, though the pool wasn’t available at that time of year. There’s covered parking as well.

The pool is lovely, and the people running this beautiful farmhouse are genuinely kind and friendly. It’s set in the Tuscan countryside, near places like Volterra and San Gimignano, with Siena an easy 40-minute drive away. My one suggestion would be to replace the mattresses and pillows.
