Sporthotel Wildgall

The location was magical, and breakfast was lovely and generous. But the room smelled so bad and felt so stuffy that we could hardly breathe. There was no minibar or even water in the room. The bed, especially the pillow, had little bits inside, and we woke up with sore necks. The staff welcomed us politely at first and seemed keen to help, then became so rude that I was scared to ask for water.

We drove from Norway to Italy for the biathlon and were staying at a hotel near this one. On arrival, the parking layout and signs weren’t clear, so we went a few metres into the wrong area by mistake. The ground was dangerously slippery, with water over the ice, and even our proper winter tires struggled to get traction. The owner came out carrying a shovel with gravel, but he didn’t offer help. Instead, he got hostile, wrongly accused us of having summer tires, and threatened to call the police. We asked politely for assistance, but he stayed aggressive and dismissive. My wife eventually found some gravel in the snow, which let us get the car moving. The owner spread gravel over the spot only after we’d already left. That was more than an unpleasant interaction. His intimidating, unprofessional response showed no regard for safety. I’d avoid this hotel if you want a welcoming and professional atmosphere. There are plenty of other places nearby where guests are treated respectfully.

Dinner was the standout for us. The five-course menu each day, included with half-board, was much better than we expected. The staff were attentive and very helpful, and the hotel felt comfortable and welcoming in this beautiful area. I’d happily stay again.

We loved the location so close to the lake. The bedroom and bathroom were roomy and clean, and both breakfast and dinner were really nice. Everyone on staff was friendly, helpful, and full of energy. We’ll definitely come back.
