The pool was clean and quiet when we used it, and the views were just as lovely as the rest of the farm. But what I keep coming back to is how Giacomo and Cherubina made the place feel like home. They and their family are incredibly welcoming and hardworking. We stayed two weeks at Agriturismo l'uliveto and can’t wait to return with the rest of our family. The farm is beautiful, with centuries-old olive trees all around, plus lemon, mandarin and nespola trees, grapes, tomatoes, herbs and flowers. We stayed in the room called "Limoneto". It’s basic rather than a 4-5 star hotel room, but big enough for our family of four, with a cooker, a sink big enough for a small meal, and a bathroom with a shower. There was a double bed for us and a sofa bed for the kids. The little courtyard was a special touch. Eating lunch under the umbrella, looking out at the rugged Sicilian mountains, was breathtaking. The dining room where guests eat was always comfortable and spacious. Nearly all the food came from the farm, including eggs, fruit, ham, honey, olives and olive oil. Breakfast was amazing. Cherubina brought out homemade cakes each day, fresh fruit, mostly figs in season, and bread with homemade orange, lemon, fig and peach jams. The figs tasted nothing like the supermarket ones. The coffee was among the best I’ve had in Italy, and when there was too much food, they offered us foil to take leftovers along. Dinner, often served at 8 for most guests, was delicious too. It started with a pasta dish, usually homemade and made with their own products. I’ll never forget the spaghetti with courgette pasta. The second course was meat with tasty sides made from ingredients picked that day, like fagiolini, tomatoes, courgettes prepared in different ways, and salads. Whatever was ready to pick often ended up on our table that same day. The meat was mostly chicken or pork, always full of flavor, and the roasted wild boar was out of this world. This is a family-run working farm. You can see the owners working from before 5 am until 11 at night, if not later. Giacomo and Cherubina are always available and do all they can to help. We were swept away by the farm as soon as we arrived. The meals are shared in one dining room, and almost everything is made from their produce. It’s not fancy accommodation, but that courtyard and its view made it feel magical. We had an amazing stay and felt at home thanks to this kind, hardworking family. We’re sure the rest of our family will fall in love with l'uliveto too.

As a solo traveler, I felt comfortable and at ease here. Cherobina and her lovely family were so warm and welcoming, and I’d happily recommend Agriturismo L'Uliveto to anyone wanting a peaceful break or a base for exploring Sicily. I hope to come back soon. It really did feel like a home away from home. The homemade cooking was a highlight, with generous portions, delicious meals, and a great breakfast spread with homemade jams and biscottis. The pool and its surroundings were quiet and restful, and my cozy room was just the right size, with a jaw-dropping view. You’ll want a car to see the area properly. I visited Cefalù, parts of Palermo, Scopello, Mondello, and the nearby town. The ceramic shops and coffee shops are a must see, as is the really nice fish restaurant Manueliana. When I first stepped out of the car, the garden, colorful flowers and valley views were breathtaking. I’d arrived with high expectations, and the beauty of this Sicilian spot still blew me away.

The hotel had a cozy, inviting feel that made it easy to relax. The food was the highlight for us: homemade dishes full of flavor, with care put into the combinations and presentation. You could see how much the owners wanted every meal to be a special experience. The chef is also the gardener and repairman, among other things. When we arrived, the owners greeted us with freshly picked fruit and water. Their genuine hospitality and attentiveness added something special throughout our stay. We had a wonderful time at this charming place.

A traditional Sicilian bed and breakfast on a hilltop, with panoramic views, dinner and breakfast included. The farm-to-table approach, from the jams through the main courses, was a nice touch. Getting there means driving uphill, and the property is fenced off, but the staff are very welcoming. It feels like visiting and staying with a family. There are two buildings and around 6-9 rooms altogether. The first building has three rooms on each floor, with balconies and air conditioning. There’s also a shared pool, open from 0830-1900. Dinner costs 25€ per person, with pasta, beef, tapas, dessert and amazing homemade red wine. Kids are 10€.

The breakfasts and dinners are homemade with produce from the farm, and they were an absolute treat. You really shouldn’t skip them. We felt like part of the family during our three days there, thanks to the wonderful hospitality of this lovely Sicilian family. It was by far the best accommodation we’d had and will have for a long time. This is the kind of place you don’t come across anymore, and the value of our days at L’Uliveto can’t be beaten.
