The room and hotel were clean, and we found good places, a clean beach and warm sea. The waitress and the man on the beach were nice. But the portions were small, so we were still hungry after dinner. Breakfast was modest too, with not much choice.

The rooms could use an update, though in Italy I mostly just sleep in them. The location and friendly staff were highlights, and the hotel's food was delicious. Our waiter was a singer. Make sure you book a sea-view room. The beach is clean and the water crystal clear. Take a boat to the rocks along the coast for private spots to snorkel, dive or sunbathe. Rent a car and follow the coast. Stop in Tropea, where you should try the filled Tropea ice cream at the café. Further south, Scilla is a fishing village with seafood restaurants and the atmosphere of a typical Italian seaside town.

The Italian food was excellent and plentiful, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The location is a real five-star feature, right by the sea, with a lovely terrace overlooking the beach; both are well equipped. The property is clean, tidy and well maintained, though the furnishings and shower could do with updating. Breakfast could be better. I found the price fairly average and affordable for different budgets. A lovely spot for a relaxing holiday.
