The location was spot on, close to everything you need. I enjoyed the espresso and pastries, and had a nice chat with the owner. Some friends staying here liked their rooms and the quaint differences from American rooms. They also enjoyed the friendly, homey, family feel. Even the locals seemed to know one another from the nearby shops.

The room was small, but it did the job.

Our stay from December 31 to January 2 was a bad experience. There was a strong, unpleasant smell as soon as we entered the room. The bathroom window was wide open, the heating wasn't on, and the heater never started working, so the room was freezing. The bed had stains, especially on the pillowcase, that definitely weren't ours. There was also a dusty cobweb or clump hanging from the ceiling, as shown in the photo. One of the towels had a clump of hair stuck to it. At least we had a bathrobe. I reported everything to the owner right away. He tried to fix it with a treatment he said was used during the Covid period, but nothing changed. I know it's a two-star hotel and wasn't expecting luxury, but there should still be a basic level of cleanliness, and the heating should be on in winter. The only good thing was being allowed to check out late, at 4:00 PM. I can't speak to the other services since we didn't include meals in our stay. I wouldn't recommend it at all. The owners should charge more if needed, but make sure guests can have a comfortable, pleasant stay.
