Hotel Avana Mare

I had a problem with my accommodation deposit, and the administrative team sorted it out straight away. They handled everything really quickly. Very impressive!

The hotel is a five-minute walk from the sea, with cafes, shops and bars nearby. My room had air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and the water was always warm. There was also daily cleaning, though it was very quick and not always done well. The rooms are generally comfortable but very small. The main problem for me was the very firm mattress. If a good night’s sleep matters to you, this may not be the place. There was no refrigerator, which was particularly inconvenient in temperatures above 30°. The advertised free playground near the hotel, which had been a key priority for me, wasn’t there. There was only a paid one on the beach. Breakfast was available, but it felt like you were being watched to make sure you didn’t have extra coffee or another sandwich. When something ran out, it was nearly impossible to get more, and I especially disliked the juice diluted with water. The staff were friendly, but didn’t seem interested in customers. More specifically, some information was misleading. Since we booked through a popular application, there were no issues with the booking itself, but some of the information was partly invalid or out of date. Check the hotel’s own website before booking. The photos from the past showed a free playground nearby, but that was no longer there. The hotel experience was 2.5 out of 5 for me. I wouldn’t return. Though it has three stars, it reminded me of a budget hostel.

We had a very small room, with one double bed and a bunk bed. Even though it was meant for five people, two adults and three kids, I could only count four proper sleeping places. They seemed to expect the youngest child to share the double bed with the parents. The bunk bed shook and had no barrier on the top bunk, so it looked dangerous, though I don’t know if it really was. There was no fridge in the room. On the good side, the reception staff were very nice, the room was cleaned daily, and I liked the breakfast. We had a balcony and parking in the hotel area, and the room did fit all five of us. The position worked well for us, close to the very good beach no.39 and its good restaurant. We chose this hotel because it was our last chance for summer 2022 after the COVID era, when everything reasonably priced had been booked, and we had a very specific date range. The photos were taken as we were leaving, so the beds weren’t made and so on.

We were happy with the room, breakfast and service. The service was especially good, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is in an excellent location. Thank you!
