Hotel Lily

For a 2-star hotel, this place is excellent. The staff are friendly, helpful, and pleasant, and the room gets cleaned daily. Air conditioning and a safe are included at no extra charge. Breakfast is standard, much like elsewhere, with fruit every day. I took off a star for the ugly burgundy bedspreads and the awkwardly placed power outlets. There are two in the room, both inconvenient, while the one in the bathroom is the only one in a handy spot.

We left after one night, and I hope the municipality acts promptly. If I could give this zero stars, I would. From the moment we arrived, the place felt like a dirty, unpleasant guesthouse. The woman at reception barely understood Italian. The hallways, walls, and floors were dirty, and the outside of our room door looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years, covered with greasy fingerprints. The neighbors were awful, with screaming, noisy dogs, children, and parrots. The room was filthy too. We removed the blanket straight away, the curtains were stained, and the walls had marks from squashed insects. In the bathroom, a shower door was missing, and the toilet looked so dirty that it didn't feel remotely clean. Breakfast was served in a beautiful room, but the products I saw, and thankfully didn't try, looked extremely low quality and were displayed in a state of disrepair. I think an inspection by the NAS and HACCP would have shut it down immediately. Also, a guest who spoke to a doctor had clear signs of bedbug bites. I know bites like that can happen in hotels, but it seemed to me as if the bugs were vacationing there with the guests. Avoid this place like the plague.

We had a suite with two balconies and a partial sea view, and it was very clean and comfortable. The location was excellent, close to everything and very near the beach. Our two boys and we were very happy with the stay. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with lots to choose from. The owner and all the staff were friendly and helpful, and we had nothing but praise for them. We'd definitely come back and can absolutely recommend the hotel.

The rooms were tolerable, but the beds were uncomfortable and everything smelled damp. In the food we found hair and even a paperclip. My sink tap splashed straight into the shower across from it, and the hot water situation was like having no curtain at all. The sheet had dried blood on it, someone I know found bugs, and the towels were full of holes. A terrible hotel. I gave it one star only because that was the minimum needed to post a review.
