Soma Hotel

I booked two days before arriving for work, then had to cancel more than 24 hours before check-in because my toddler son was suddenly hospitalized for several days. I needed to stay at the hospital with him. I messaged them on WhatsApp as soon as the hospital told me, since they’d contacted me there about check-in. They read it and didn’t reply at all. I then requested cancellation through booking.com and heard nothing for five days. After I asked booking assistance for help, the hotel sent me a single dot in the booking messages the next day. I wasn’t expecting a refund, even though I asked because it was an emergency. I knew the cancellation policy when I booked. What bothered me was that they didn’t try to communicate or discuss any solution. In my experience, places usually reply, whether or not a refund or date change is possible. What terrible customer service. I never stayed there, so I can’t tell anyone not to book. Just be careful if you cancel, because they take your money and disappear.

The hotel’s in a great spot, and breakfast had a tasty selection. My room could use some refurbishment, but the two ladies running the place while I was there were brilliant and looked after me so well. Thanks to them both, and all the best. 🙏🏻

Our room was small, but it suited us perfectly. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the hotel is just steps from the sea in a fantastic location. It’s genuinely pet-friendly, which earns it five stars from me, especially with the reasonable extra cleaning cost. Private parking is available too, and I’d book it in advance because the hotel is so central.

The hot water came out brown, the doors let through noise, and the rooms didn’t look like the photos. A terrible stay, I wouldn’t recommend it.
