Residence Royal House

We had a really enjoyable week here. The apartment was comfortable and clean, and there was parking. Since it’s managed by the Oasis hotel, you can use the pool and wellness facilities and get free bikes. The location is good, though the wifi in our apartment wasn’t great.

The apartment had everything needed in both the kitchen and bathroom, and the views over the mountains and Riva were beautiful. It was clean and cheap, about a 5-minute walk from the city center. The hotel oasi spa, wellness, and pool were included in the price, around a 15-minute walk away. Great location, definitely recommend. There’s also an awesome, delicious pizza place just around the corner.

We weren’t told by email that check-in was at another hotel, 15 minutes away.

The location of Residence Royal House is convenient, a short walk from both the center and the beach. Parking inside their gate was easy, and the off-season price was pretty reasonable. But the apartment badly needs renovation. The decor is dated, the sofa was a joke, and the 14-inch living room TV wasn’t much fun. At least the beds were decent. There was no notice that you have to collect the key about 2 km away, since there’s no reception at the property. Luckily, other guests at the gate let us know. The gas water heater, in the middle of the kitchen, sounded like it might fly away whenever anyone used hot water. You can hear the neighbours talking because the building has really bad acoustics, and I woke up every morning to someone raking outside. The fridge had a freezer compartment but no door on it, so the fridge was really, really cold. My attached picture shows the style of the place. The clock didn’t work either. It wasn’t the worst experience, but if you want to really enjoy your time, this probably isn’t the place for you.
