We stayed four nights, arriving Friday, and the shower and toilet problems were still there when we left Wednesday. The shower water was both weak and scalding hot, and sometimes the toilet wouldn't flush twice in a row. We were told a plumber could come on Monday, but nothing had been fixed by our departure. There is no breakfast, which the hotel confirmed during our stay. The front door was hard to open, and we got locked outside several times. It opens with a phone call, so if you get an Italian mobile data plan with a new number, remember to give it to the owner.

The front door lock was a pain to work, and getting back inside was often difficult. The walls were so thin we could hear every word from the neighbors, including the couple next door complaining about their moldy shower. There was thick black mold throughout our shower, and dust all over the bathroom floor, so it definitely wasn't cleaned regularly. The bed was uncomfortable and pushed against the wall. The small reception had a shared coffee and tea station, but the pot looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. There were no other amenities, and reception was never staffed when we were there. The owner was nice, but this place left a lot to be desired. If you're looking for a budget stay, there are probably better options in Rome.

Carmen is such a lovely lady, and Simone was always available and quick to reply. The place was comfortable and clean. It's a quiet area that felt perfect for families, with convenient bus or metro rides to many of Rome's main attractions. Best experience we had in Italy.

The room was very clean, and the balcony was a nice extra. The AC was much needed. We were in a quiet part of Rome, close to Bologna metro and plenty of buses, and it was really good value for money.
