We had a lovely stay in an area that felt quite different from Rome itself. Ostia Antica was a nice little town, with a few small bars and cafes, plus the Papal castle and the archeological park. We arrived four hours early because I'd got the archeological park's opening dates wrong. Remo was very accommodating, and soon we were inside our unit, relaxing in the sun on the patio. There was plenty of space, the Wifi was good, and it was very quiet. I would have liked mugs and spoons so we could make hot drinks ourselves. It was cold in February, though. Walking into town took about 30 minutes, and the number 11 bus stops about 50m away every 20 minutes. We also chose Remo for the airport transfer, which was much easier than a taxi and possibly cheaper.

The place was clean, well looked after, and welcoming, and we felt at home. The gentleman running the B&B was courteous, attentive to every detail, and always smiling. We were met with unusual kindness and helpfulness. A great choice for a quiet stay with genuine hospitality and a family atmosphere. Thank you so much.

I only stayed one night, and I won't come back. There was no parking, so I had to leave the car on a street near a river, and got a €29 fine. The apartment was fairly comfortable, but the beds were old and noisy. Heat came only from the air conditioning, and unless you switched it on well in advance, it didn't heat or dehumidify. It was very cold when we arrived, maybe they were trying to save money. The worst part was the hot water: my son showered for less than 10 minutes and got warm water for only the first 5, then it went cold. The same happened to me and the rest of my family. In 2024, places still have water heaters that hold only a few dozen liters. Never again.
