Ada Rooms

Getting around on foot was easy, and there are nice restaurants nearby. The apartment felt safe and is in a guarded building. But be careful, the accommodation is trying to pin all existing damages on you! Take pictures. Everything is moldy. Our bathroom smelled so strongly of urine, like someone had peed in it the day before. The rooms were cleaned every day, but it still stank like a train station toilet. At one point we had no hot water for a shower. Worse, the apartment flooded while we were showering. The host didn’t answer our message, and even Booking.com couldn’t find a solution with the accommodation.

I was there for six nights. The staff were friendly, especially Henry, who I bumped into a couple of times. The room was private, with a small fridge, a water faucet, and a working AC, which was really necessary in August. The bed was small and the sheets weren’t the most comfortable. The shower was so tiny I couldn’t bend down to pick toiletries up off the floor. It’s in a condo building in a neighborhood that isn’t very touristy, which was nice. The Vatican is close, though most of the big sights take a bit of a walk to reach. There are easy bus and Metro stops nearby. If you just need a good value place to stay while you’re out exploring all day, it works well. I’d recommend it for that.

If zero stars were an option, that’s what I’d give. Four hours before check-in, the host cancelled our reservation, saying he was suddenly “going out of town” and couldn’t do a late check-in. It was a last-minute excuse, and he took no responsibility. The timing seems no coincidence. The real reason was likely to cancel and relist at a higher price because of the conclave. Total scam, mafia-style behavior. We were left stranded in Rome, with no service, help, or solution offered. Don’t book Ada Rooms. Unreliable, dishonest, unprofessional. Stay far away.

The host was kind and easy to reach, which helped make the stay fine overall. We spent three nights here in November, and the room, number 3, felt cheaper and less clean than expected. The bathroom also looked poorly maintained and didn’t match the photos. The rooms are a bit older than advertised, so there’s room for improvement.
