Artemis Guest House

The rooms are pretty basic, just a bed, wardrobe, and ensuite, and I found the bed a little uncomfortable. They were cleaned daily and we got fresh towels each day. The tea and coffee setup is DIY in reception. The guest house is central and reasonably priced, just a few minutes from the train station and around 15 minutes from the Colosseum. It's tucked inside a gated apartment area, so finding it at first was a bit tricky, but that also made it quiet and secure. For the price and location, I can't complain.

I booked two weeks in advance, but when I arrived the reception was very poor and I didn't feel respected as a customer. They tried to give me a smaller, worse room than the one I'd asked for, and at a higher price. I had to cancel and leave right away. A very bad experience.

The showers had strong pressure and the temperature was easy to set, and our beds were comfortable with soft, clean towels. The rooms were spotless and nicely decorated, with a really good feel to the place. It's central, with plenty of good cafes and places to eat nearby. Roberto and his staff were great hosts, always ready to help and share local tips. They surprised us with different tasty local foods, too. There was unlimited drinking water, tea and coffee, plus fresh fruit. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, and there's a kitchen with a fridge and plenty of utensils if you want to cook. The Daikin air conditioners were good quality. Everything was perfect during our few days of sightseeing in Rome. Highly recommend it.

The owner kept bringing up that we'd booked the economy room, which made us feel unwelcome. We also didn't get keys for the lift, even though it only works with a key. The location is good, but we had to wait 25 minutes for the owner to come open the door because the place was empty.
