Athena Hotel

A really sweet little hotel, with lots of useful facilities right on its doorstep. The staff were kind and helpful throughout, and everything was really clean. :)

Francesca was so welcoming and sweet, and I really enjoyed talking with her. I definitely recommend this hotel.

The location was really pleasant. The place and service were both very good, and it's just a few minutes' walk from the station.

The noise was constant. The rooms weren't soundproof, so we heard everything from other rooms and reception. Someone even knocked on our door at midnight, and I kept waking my father because I was worried people could hear him snoring. The rooms were small, the beds narrow, the bathroom floor was sloped compared with the room, and there was only one socket and one chair in the double room, with no space for another. Grout was dirty, the sink was damaged and discolored, as were the shower tray and toilet. The shower was moldy, the room smelled unpleasant, and the furniture and walls looked old and dirty. The neighborhood was dirty too. It was expensive and a disappointing stay. I've stayed at another three-star hotel in Rome that was much better. This 'three-Star' hotel should, in my opinion, be closed for sanitary reasons. I suspect the positive reviews may have been left by mistake, since Booking.com has a four-star hotel with the same name.
