B&B Hotel Roma Trastevere

Lorenzo was so easy to deal with and really helpful throughout. An absolute top guy, I can't fault him. This was my first time here, and I'll come back. Thanks so much! He also spoke Arabic 😁

I've stayed here twice before, and this was my third visit, for a week of business. I'm not sure I'll return. I'd emailed asking for a nice, quiet room, but room 409 was tiny, old and worn, facing the street where the tram runs. After I reminded them about my request, they moved me after one night to room 403, which they called newly renovated. But its mattress was badly sagging and worn out. A renovated room should have a decent mattress, and I slept terribly. I have five more nights here for a conference with a business group that's staying at the same hotel. They didn't charge me the higher room rate, but any price feels like too much when you can barely sleep. I complained at reception again and waited to see if they'd put a better mattress in the room for the rest of my stay. They later said they'd changed it. I couldn't feel much difference, though I do appreciate the effort, so I've added a star for the service. We've noticed big differences in room quality among the people in my group staying here for five days. This has all been really annoying.

The room was spacious, and the staff were welcoming and very nice. Breakfast had lots of good choices, too. We liked being close to several city highlights, while far enough away that it wasn't loud at night or felt unsafe. Staying here was a great start to our Italy trip.

Breakfast was much better than I expected, with good bread and coffee, cheese, fruit, yogurt, ham, and scrambled eggs. The room was small and cozy, and it was quiet. The staff were kind and helpful, and I'd definitely book BB Trastevere again. The heating controls sometimes didn't seem to respond, and since Rome was cold, I felt chilly a couple of times during the night. That's my only complaint. The hotel is a bit far from the action, but the nearby Trastevere train station, tram stops, and bus stops all over made it easy to get around.
