B&B Lumiere Roma

We were sent to the café below the B&B for breakfast, and it was awful, with frozen croissants. The whole stay was a mess. When we arrived, nobody was there; I called and was told no room had been booked. They showed up after I’d waited half an hour and said the room wasn’t ready. Once I uncovered the bed, the sheets had lipstick stains and lots of hair, and the duvet was dirty and an unclear color. The bed had just a flat sheet, with the duvet folded separately. There was no bidet in the bathroom and no shower gel. The staff seemed inexperienced, and the place was terrible.

It’s a good option for a one-night stop. With two kids, though, the rooms feel a bit cramped, and adding an extra cot makes the lack of space more noticeable. I’d still recommend it.

The experience fell short because hygiene was very poor. The TV didn’t work, and there was no hot water at either the sink or the shattaf (hygienic shower). In my opinion those are important details, and they detracted from my respect for the facility. I wouldn’t recommend this tour if you’re looking for professionalism.

The owners were incredibly kind, and breakfast was decent, enough to head out sightseeing with a full stomach. Shops are close, buses stop right outside and go straight to Rome’s center, the metro is very close, and the Vatican is a short walk away. The place was comfortable, and we couldn’t hear the neighbors. Even with double glazing, though, traffic noise was clear in the evening because it’s on a busy road. A huge thank you to the owners for their hospitality!
