We paid for three nights, but effectively lost the first one because we couldn’t get into the room. My family, two adults and a 13-year-old, had to stay at a nearby McDonald’s until morning, and we didn’t reach the room until around noon the next day. I had told the property before arrival that we expected to get there around midnight, but there was no reception, host, or clear access information when we arrived. Calls and messages to the host went unanswered, and Agoda representatives couldn’t reach them either. At about 3:00 AM, we were told to go to another place called “Carton 21” to check in. That location hadn’t appeared in the booking details or been shared ahead of time. There was no reception desk, sign, or staff there, and we couldn’t find anyone to let us into the accommodation. I’m writing this to document a very poor check-in. The property and booking platform should address this so other guests, especially people arriving late who can’t reach the host, don’t have the same experience. This level of service is far below what guests should reasonably expect.

The bathroom door separating the wet and dry areas was broken and wouldn’t shut, so showering with it open got the whole bathroom wet. Then the housekeeper scolded us for it. Shouldn’t she have known the door was broken, and why hasn’t the hotel repaired it? We couldn’t use the fridge, TV, or bathroom properly, there was no blanket on the bed so we had to look for one in the broken wardrobe, and the fridge had no complimentary water. The room was old, uncomfortable, and nothing like the online photos. We booked a King-size single room, and staff initially confirmed the booking was valid. At check-in they gave us a completely different room and only then said ours was unavailable because it was full. The hotel also sent us the wrong location, so we had to walk with all our luggage to the correct address ourselves. Staff service was extremely poor. There was no sound insulation or natural light, and at one point the power went out. For the price, it wasn’t worth it and we deeply regret spending our money here. We’ve never had a hotel experience this bad. We genuinely don’t recommend it, and suggest staying somewhere else.

The only nice thing I can say is that there was a balcony overlooking the courtyard. The room was tiny, had no amenities, and didn’t match the Expedia photos at all. It had mold and bedbugs, and there was no A/C. Absolutely nasty. I believe this is a scam, and it’s far from a hotel. It seems to be an individual subleasing tiny apartments. Check-in was terrible. It took four hours, and after the “owner” finally called back, we had to walk seven blocks with all our luggage to get a key. The owner refused to refund any of the nights, so we gave up that money and moved to another hotel at midnight, walking the streets of Rome. I’ve never had a worse hotel experience. For the first time in my life I’d have preferred a park bench. The other reviews look terrible too, so I can’t be the first to feel this way. It was a great way to ruin our honeymoon. Do not stay here at any cost.

It’s conveniently located among locals, away from a big tourist area. The room was small, but that didn’t matter since we only slept and showered there. Getting the check-in instructions was a bit difficult.

The reception guy was nice, but the check-in steps were super complicated. The check-in location was separate from the hotel, which is ridiculous. And although Expedia says parking is available, there is none. Your only option is the sketchy street, with broken beer glasses all over it. The rooms are NOTHING like the Expedia photos. It’s a very small, single-room hotel, and you barely fit in the bathroom. The bathroom door is broken and won’t close, and there was no hand soap. There’s a bunk bed and a two-person bed. They charged us a 100€ tourist fee, which I’ve never seen while staying in Italy. The elevator felt super sketchy. We got stuck on the first floor for about five minutes in the heat. Only two people fit, with no room to move, even with luggage. I wouldn’t recommend it.
