Bellesuite Rome

It’s been hard to reach anyone at reception. During normal hours there’s usually nobody to talk to, except possibly between 11am and 2pm. We’re staying here now, and the bathroom smells of mould and the toilet moves. We can’t discuss the problems because nobody is around; when we call the emergency number, no one speaks English. That would be manageable if someone were here in person so we could use a translator, but as it is, getting anything fixed feels impossible. There were problems when we first arrived, too. After finally speaking to the woman who serves breakfast, some were only partly sorted. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned, the fridge was dirty and didn’t work, and there was no TV. The cleaning has since been taken care of, and they supplied a very roughly put-together TV setup. It feels to me like the hotel doesn’t care about bad reviews or about things being out of order as long as guests keep paying. If this helps even one person choose another hotel, I’ll be glad.

The booking was confusing because Concur had poor descriptions and the wrong room photos. Once there, though, the beds were comfortable, the staff kind and patient, and the morning breakfast was both really good and convenient. The hotel is right by the metro, so get the multi day pass!!! I stayed for the first two days of a two-week trip to the Almafi coast. Really no complaints, I loved it.

We waited 20 minutes for someone to check us in, and the TV didn’t work, though reception had told us about that upfront. The place was very clean. Breakfast was very average. It’s central to Rome’s main sights, and we were barely there, so we didn’t want to spend much. Still, it was very overpriced for a 3* hotel.

I tried emailing and calling a month before our stay to let them know we’d arrive late, but nobody answered. Even though their website says reception is open 7am to 11 pm, nobody let us into our room or the building that evening before 11 pm. There were several numbers posted for emergencies, but most didn’t work or were completely blocked. One rang, but nobody answered or called back. We had to find another hotel for the rest of our stay. I’m still waiting to see whether I can get my payment refunded.
