Romano, the owner, was really kind and helpful. The location is perfect, the rooms are good, and there’s a nice, cool, spacious terrace. The kitchen is available all the time and has everything you need. Next time, we’ll stay at Le Terrazze di San Giovanni again.

We stayed with the family during the last week of July. The room was spacious and well maintained, and the gentleman looking after the guesthouse was very kind and helpful. My daughter became ill on our last day. They were fully booked and couldn’t extend our stay, but they helped make her comfortable. Thank you, Lora and team!

The room was at least clean, and the owner seemed like a good man, but for over 200 euros a night this was a bad joke. It was about 12 square meters, with a bathroom no bigger than 1.2. There was no shower gel, and the shower stall seemed around 50 square cm. To wash a child, you had to sit half outside; leaning over the sink meant one shoulder hit the shower window and the other a hair dryer. The bed’s headboard was scratched and covered with a gray blanket. Our room was practically beside reception, so hallway noise felt like it was inside the room. The doors seemed just as flimsy: we could hear every word from two people arguing and shouting in another room for about two hours. I had booked a room with a pullout sofa, but got two small metal beds like army camp beds instead. One of the pictures shows the lovely “view” from our room. On arrival they said we had to pay an extra 20 euros per day as a fee. I couldn’t pay it by card, and they gave me no paper, receipt, or invoice.

There are only six rooms, so book quickly if you want this place. It’s perfectly located, and you can take the subway everywhere without needing a car. We even took the fast train to Florence for a day. Breakfast on the terrace was really relaxing. We walked to the Colosseum, then had dinner at a cafe with it lit up behind us at night.
