Hotel Bolognese

We were there from October 6th to 10th. The room was quiet, roomy, and tidy, and the hotel felt cozy, with friendly people and all the amenities we needed. It had an authentic Italian atmosphere. Transport links were excellent, and several historical sights were an easy walk away, which worked well for us since we like walking. The morning coffee was a nice surprise, with a rich flavor. Special thanks to Stanislav for giving us all the useful information we needed. We came away with a very positive impression.

The room was filthy, and the bed sheets had blood stains. Dirt was everywhere in the toilet, and the shower was disgusting, with a dirty, sticky curtain and water that wouldn’t drain. I couldn’t sleep properly because I heard every hallway noise, including people talking and doors closing. I woke up five or six times. The man at reception was extremely rude. He yelled at me for ringing twice and immediately demanded the tax money. When I asked to leave my luggage, he left it unattended in the open hallway, which felt completely unsafe. I couldn’t check in before 2 p.m., so I had to find somewhere else for my bag. For the price, this is a total rip-off. Even the cheapest hostel would be better. This place shouldn’t be called a hotel.

The balcony view was pretty, and the mattresses were nice. That was about it for the good parts of our four-night stay. The rooms were small and dirty. The walls, once white, were smeared with grey grime or grease, and I didn’t dare touch it. Soundproofing was nothing like the website claimed. If anyone talked in the hallway, we could follow their conversation from inside our room. The shower barely worked, if it wasn’t broken, and the bathroom smelled like puke. Every time we flushed, the smell came back. The towels were supposed to be changed for clean ones every two days, but staff just folded the used ones and put them on the bed or counter. The hairdryers didn’t work either. When staff cleaned, they left the windows open, so mosquitoes got in. Staff were generally rude, and the soap dispensers and counter by the beds were visibly dirty. One cushion was covered in mold. I was too scared to check the bed in case I found more mold and couldn’t sleep there. Breakfast was a small piece of bread about the size of a child’s hand and some dry biscuits. There was only jam for the bread, and some of the jam staff had put in bowls was expired. The coffee was the worst I’ve ever had, just warm water with coffee aroma and a drop of milk. Don’t stay here. The photos look much better than the actual rooms, and you can find better hotels for less. With this level of hygiene and service, it shouldn’t be a hotel.

I stayed here as a student while I was looking for a long-term place. The rooms aren’t the most modern, but it was one of the cheapest options when I booked. The staff were very, very friendly and always helpful when I needed something or had questions. It’s an 8-10 minute walk from termini. Carrying my luggage up two flights of stairs wasn’t an issue for me since I’m used to hauling it. I never tried the breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. All in all, a very pleasant stay. Thanks!
