Boutique Hotel Galatea

The breakfast was fantastic, and the rooms were spacious. The woman with curly hair was especially lovely, such a ray of sunshine, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. There were a couple of things that really bothered us. The patio door wouldn’t lock, and one day we came back to find the housekeeper had left it wide open with all our belongings inside. The room also smelled awful. Maybe it was the age of the building, but our clothes kept the smell for days after being in our suitcases there. One tip if you stay: Pizzeria Est Est Est is a few buildings down, and it was the best pizza we had in Italy.

Our flights were all canceled, so we couldn't travel and didn't get to use any of the hotel's services. The hotel still kept the full payment and offered no refund, compromise, or other solution. We never even stayed there, yet lost all our money. It was a very disappointing experience and poor customer service. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We only booked three nights at short notice, and the staff made us feel welcome and looked after. We had a small problem with our room, but they offered us another one and sorted it out well. The breakfast server was lovely, remembered how we liked our coffee, and made hot chocolate for our son each morning. The hotel is on the third floor of a residential building and doesn't make a big impression, but it's clean, cozy, and well maintained. The balconies and back yards are full of greenery, a really lovely setting in the Eternal City. It also offers free walking tours. We really enjoyed the night photography tour, and its guide was brilliant.

Jasmine made things so easy for us. She got us great rooms, arranged transport to our cruise, and even went out of her way to book a ride from the cruise to the airport. Most of my family were visiting Italy for the first time, and we were grateful for all her help. She's a 10/10. Breakfast was just right, and the cappuccino was delicious. There's also a restaurant next door with wonderful food.
