BQ HOUSE COLOSSEO Luxury rooms

Although the rooms are modern, well equipped, and have what you need, this is really a four-room flat converted into hotel accommodation. The rooms are too close together. I couldn’t sleep for two nights because the people next door watched TV until 3 pm. When we asked to reschedule, they wouldn’t agree, even though we were willing to pay the difference. That was disappointing.

Check-in went great with Jose, and the room was excellent and very clean.

This felt like a small apartment, not a hotel. There was no useful reception service: just a tiny, unattended table, and outside breakfast hours the place felt deserted. No staff were around to answer questions or even help order a taxi. The room was much smaller than the photos suggested. My family and I were in a 12-square-meter room, and the price was high. They charged me 50 euros for late check-in and another 70 euros in taxes, but I never received receipts for either charge. Breakfast was very basic: one kind of cheese, one kind of ham salami, one egg per guest, and a cake that seemed to stay in the kitchen for a week. For a place this far from everything, I’d expect to pay less than a third of what they charged. It might work for a quick stop in Rome, but at most for one night.

The staff at BQ House Colosseo were fantastic, friendly, and helpful. We were also close to the main sights, with the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore on the same street, a five-minute walk from Termini Station, and ten minutes from the Colosseum. Our room felt even better in person than in the photos: spotless, modern, huge, and with a very spacious bathroom. It had the sound of ROCK FM. If Rome had a playlist, this would be the song of the day.
