The staff were kind and accommodating, and even carried our bags to the room. The street is quiet and tucked away, but the sights are close by. Watch out for the narrow stairs. Our room was cozy, the bed was very comfortable, and there was a spacious wardrobe. The shower was small, and the AC could have been stronger, though it wasn’t a problem. I’d happily stay here again.
Marzia at reception made everything easy and personal, from restaurant suggestions and bookings to thoughtful check-ins. Ronan’s homemade cakes were a daily highlight, and he looked after guests with real care and generosity. The place feels welcoming, almost like someone’s home. It’s beautifully designed, with elegant, calm rooms that have understated Italian style, and it sits on a quiet street within easy walking distance of everything. Casa Fabbrini is a special place, and we’ll be back.
The location is excellent, and everything was clean and nicely furnished. But the hotel wasn’t worth what we paid, € 320/night. Our room was tiny, and despite asking for an upper floor two weeks ahead, we got the lowest room. I’d also requested a balcony and that was ignored. There was no fridge, the shower was moldy, and the bathroom smelled unpleasant. It was noisy too. We got plastic water bottles instead of glass and paper cups instead of proper glasses. The welcome strawberries sat in our room for six days until I put them outside the door, by then moldy. The “breakfast buffet” was barely a buffet: the same ham and cheese every day, with little else. Staff were often absent from both breakfast and reception. Our emailed requests, sent two weeks before our eight-day stay, were completely ignored. The receptionist seemed forced in her friendliness, though the gentleman in the breakfast room was fine. The mattresses were far too soft. For that price, I expected much more.
It felt like having a home in Rome, with lovely staff and cakes I’m already looking forward to having again at breakfast. Casa Fabbrini is a real treasure, close to everything and a lovely way to get a taste of Italian culture. The homemade yogurt is a must! Special thanks to Marzia ❤️
The highlight for all four of us was breakfast in the top-floor kitchen and living room. Two very polite gentlemen served it, with four or five cakes made in-house each day alongside the usual breakfast items. Best of all, the cakes, coffee, and other things were left out for guests to enjoy throughout the day. We stayed as two couples for four nights and were very pleased. Casa Fabbrini is a five-room former home (?) in central Rome, about a 5 to 10 minutes’ walk from Piazza di Spania. Our rooms were about the right size and had all the amenities we needed. We’d stay there again next time we’re in Rome!
